Sineng Electric has delivered 576 MW of power conversion systems (PCS) to the Khavda Energy Park in India, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion in the country’s battery energy storage system (BESS) market. The project is being developed by the Adani Group and adopts Sineng Electric’s central PCS solution.

Once fully completed, the BESS facility at Khavda is expected to reach a total capacity of 1,126 MW / 3,530 MWh, making it the largest BESS installation in India and among the largest single-location energy storage projects globally.

The large-scale BESS is aimed at strengthening India’s energy security by enabling round-the-clock availability of clean power. The project will support peak load management, reduce transmission congestion, mitigate solar power curtailment, and enhance overall grid reliability and operational efficiency, supporting the country’s transition towards a low-carbon energy system.

The deployment is currently in advanced stages at Khavda, Gujarat, which is being developed as the world’s largest renewable energy plant. The BESS integrates advanced lithium-ion battery technology with sophisticated energy management systems to ensure high performance, reliability and efficient energy shifting. The system will play a key role in balancing renewable generation and stabilising the grid as renewable penetration increases.

The project is also aligned with the Adani Group’s broader energy storage strategy. As of September this year, the group had an operational renewable energy capacity of 16.7 GW. Under its announced roadmap, Adani plans to deploy an additional 15 GWh of BESS capacity by March 2027, with a long-term target of 50 GWh over the next five years.

India remains a strategic market for Sineng Electric. Over the past eight years, the company has built a strong local presence by combining global technology expertise with local grid requirements. Building on its photovoltaic (PV) business network, Sineng Electric is now expanding its footprint in the energy storage sector through closer collaboration with leading Indian energy players and a localized value chain covering manufacturing, operations and services.

Sineng Electric said it will continue to leverage its technological capabilities and execution experience to support large-scale BESS deployments in India and globally, contributing to the development of a more resilient, flexible and clean energy system.
