EDF Renewables North America has announced a significant 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Southern California Public Power Authority (SCPPA) for a portion of the Bonanza Solar and Storage project. This agreement guarantees the delivery of carbon-free electricity generated by a 125 MWac solar photovoltaic (PV) system and a 65 MW 4-hour Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to SCPPA’s participating members, Pasadena Water & Power and Azusa Light & Water, commencing by December 31, 2028. Situated in Clark County, Nevada, the Bonanza Solar and Storage project will boast a total capacity of 300 MWac solar PV paired with a 195 MW 4-hour BESS.

This project, situated on federal land in the southern Nevada desert, anticipates creating approximately 500 jobs during its peak construction phase. Emphasizing the importance of environmental stewardship, the Bonanza Solar and Storage project is collaborating closely with federal and state agencies to minimize its impact on wildlife, habitats, and other environmental resources.
