AmpereHour Energy has partnered with Organo Eco Habitats to deploy a centralised Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the Organo Antharam residential community in Chevella, marking what the companies describe as India’s first residential community to integrate a centralised battery storage system as part of its core energy infrastructure.

The project represents a significant step in the adoption of advanced energy storage solutions within residential communities, aimed at improving energy resilience, reducing reliance on conventional energy systems, and advancing sustainable living models.

Organo Antharam, developed by Organo Eco Habitats, is designed around a sustainability-first concept inspired by traditional Indian village ecosystems. The community combines modern residential infrastructure with environmentally conscious planning, following what the developer describes as a “Rurban” living model that blends rural sustainability principles with urban comfort.

As part of its broader net-zero energy strategy, the community has integrated a 500 KVA/608 kWh battery energy storage system supplied by AmpereHour Energy. The installation is designed to manage and optimize multiple energy sources, including rooftop solar photovoltaic systems, grid electricity, and battery storage, creating an integrated energy ecosystem for the entire residential development.

The centralised BESS enables seamless power management by balancing renewable generation and grid supply while storing excess energy for future use. The system is designed to provide uninterrupted power supply to residents while reducing dependence on fossil-fuel-based backup systems such as diesel generators.

According to the companies, the energy management architecture functions as an intelligent central system, optimizing energy flow across the community to improve reliability, efficiency, and sustainability. The integrated model aims to minimize carbon emissions and enhance energy independence for residential consumers.

Ayush Misra, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of AmpereHour Energy, said the project establishes a benchmark for residential clean energy infrastructure in India and demonstrates how battery storage can move beyond backup power applications into becoming a core component of community energy strategy.

Rakesh Koti, Head of Sustainability and Business Development at Organo, said energy infrastructure remains a critical component in building sustainable communities and that the battery storage integration supports the company’s long-term vision of creating energy-efficient residential ecosystems.
