ACME Solar Holdings Limited has announced the commissioning of the second phase of its battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Rajasthan, marking another milestone in the company’s expanding energy storage portfolio.
The development was disclosed through a regulatory filing submitted to both the BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India on March 3, 2026. The project is being executed by the company’s wholly owned subsidiary, ACME Suryodaya Private Limited.
Under the newly commissioned phase, the facility has added 38 MW / 82 MWh of battery storage capacity. The project is located in the villages of Sanwara and Mehar Nagar in Pokhran Tehsil of the Jaisalmer district.
The second phase forms part of a larger battery storage development planned by ACME Solar with a total capacity of 285 MW / 600 MWh. Once fully completed, the facility is expected to become one of the largest battery energy storage projects in the region.
According to the company’s regulatory disclosure, the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for the newly commissioned phase is scheduled for March 5, 2026. The filing was submitted by Rajesh Sodhi, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of ACME Solar Holdings Limited, in accordance with Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015.
Battery energy storage systems are increasingly seen as a critical component of India’s renewable energy transition, enabling better integration of intermittent renewable power sources while improving grid stability.
By advancing this large-scale energy storage project in the solar-rich Jaisalmer region, ACME Solar aims to strengthen its role in the country’s growing clean energy infrastructure and support the broader expansion of renewable power capacity.
