Infrastructure and renewable energy company Ceigall India Ltd has secured a 220 megawatt (MW) solar power project integrated with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the Morena Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh, marking a major milestone in its expanding renewable energy portfolio.

The company received the Letter of Award (LoA) from Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) on February 9, 2026, following a tariff-based competitive bidding process. Ceigall India emerged as the lowest bidder with a quoted tariff of ₹2.70 per kilowatt-hour, with the total project investment estimated at approximately ₹1,700 crore, including GST.

The project scope includes the end-to-end development of the solar power plant along with integrated battery energy storage infrastructure. Ceigall India will undertake design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning, followed by long-term operation and maintenance (O&M) for a period of 25 years. The construction phase is expected to be completed within 24 months.

The inclusion of BESS is expected to significantly enhance grid stability, enable peak-load management, and improve the dispatchability of solar power, supporting Madhya Pradesh’s broader renewable energy and energy transition objectives. By enabling energy storage, the project will help mitigate intermittency challenges associated with solar generation while strengthening the reliability of power supply.

Morena Solar Park is being developed as a strategic renewable energy hub in the state, aligned with national targets to accelerate clean energy deployment and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. The integration of battery storage further strengthens the project’s role in supporting grid flexibility and energy resilience.

Traditionally known for its road and infrastructure projects, Ceigall India has been steadily diversifying into renewable energy. The award of the 220 MW solar-plus-storage project underscores the company’s strategic focus on expanding its footprint in the green energy sector and enhances its growing order book in the utility-scale renewable segment.
