Jabil Inc., a global leader in engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing solutions, has announced a strategic expansion of its long-term collaboration with Inno, a metal parts manufacturer and subsidiary of Shanghai Xinpeng Industry Co. (XP), to establish a new production facility for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) enclosures in Thailand.
The two companies will co-invest in a 15,000-square-meter site in Rayong, comprising two buildings dedicated to mechanical fabrication and assembly. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on November 3, 2025, and the site is expected to begin prototype operations by late 2026.
The facility marks a significant milestone in Jabil’s effort to strengthen vertical integration and diversify its global supply chain, particularly for the fast-growing energy storage sector. It will enable Jabil to provide customers with a complete BESS lifecycle solution, including sheet metal processing, structural fabrication, welding, coating, and final integration.
Situated just 25 kilometers from Laem Chabang Port, Thailand’s largest and Southeast Asia’s fourth-biggest port, the site offers a strategic logistics advantage for customers across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America.
For over a decade, our team has supported energy storage leaders with advanced integration technologies like battery management systems and power electronics,” said Brent Tompkins, Senior Vice President, Global Business Units, Renewables and Energy Infrastructure at Jabil. “This new facility allows us to deliver a vertically integrated, regionally based solution — reducing supply chain risk while enhancing cost efficiency and speed to market.
Jeffery Shen, CEO of XP, added, Our partnership with Jabil accelerates Inno’s growth in the global energy storage market. Together, we will help expand renewable energy access worldwide — especially as the demand for AI-related infrastructure drives new energy needs.
Since 2014, Jabil and XP have collaborated on mechanical design, sheet metal, and fabrication services for industries spanning energy, data centers, telecommunications, and healthcare. This latest expansion builds upon that partnership, positioning both companies to better serve the rapidly growing battery energy storage industry — a cornerstone of the global clean energy transition.
With over 100 sites worldwide and 50 years of manufacturing excellence, Jabil continues to innovate across sectors by offering sustainable, scalable, and resilient engineering solutions that empower its customers to build the next generation of technologies.
