Serentica Renewables has announced a partnership with Shanghai Gotion Digital Energy Tech Co. to set up one of India’s largest Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The 50 MW / 200.6 MWh facility is scheduled for commissioning by the end of 2025 and will mark Serentica’s first energy storage initiative.
According to the company, the project will combine renewable generation with advanced storage solutions to deliver firm, round-the-clock green power and strengthen grid stability.
“Battery storage is the key to making round-the-clock renewable energy competitive and reliable. This project will strengthen India’s grid and accelerate the transition to firm green power,” said Akshay Hiranandani, CEO of Serentica Renewables.
The company noted that the project represents a major step in integrating storage with renewable energy and enabling large-scale decarbonisation for industries.
