In a significant move toward supporting India’s Net Zero mission and addressing the escalating demand for sustainable battery recycling, Mobec Innovation (mobec.io), India’s pioneering provider of customisable B2B mobile EV charging and energy storage solutions, unveiled a transformative national strategic partnership model aimed at overhauling the country’s lithium battery recycling ecosystem.

The new model introduces a collaborative and scalable framework designed to empower regional partners to establish advanced recycling facilities. By leveraging Mobec’s proprietary technology and robust operational processes, strategic partners will be able to maximize rare metal recovery while minimizing environmental impact. This approach is intended to create a nationwide network of recycling hubs capable of processing batteries from electric vehicles, solar systems, industrial equipment, and consumer electronics.

In a landmark development, Mobec announced the inauguration of its first strategic partnership in Greater Noida, a key industrial center in northern India. This marks the start of a pan-India rollout of Mobec’s decentralized recycling infrastructure.

“The surge in lithium-ion battery use presents both an opportunity and a challenge,” said Harry Bajaj, Founder and CEO of Mobec Innovation. “Our strategic partnership model offers a powerful, collaborative approach for organisations looking to capitalise on the burgeoning green economy while making a significant contribution to environmental sustainability. Our first Strategic Partnership is the beginning of a new era in this $13 billion industry opportunity.”

Mobec emphasized that the initial quarters will focus on capacity building and stakeholder alignment to ensure that the model remains both financially viable and environmentally sustainable. The company also aims to establish best practices to serve as an industry benchmark for long-term success.

As of now, Mobec is focusing its recycling initiative on electric vehicles (EVs), energy storage systems (ESS), power backup generators, and consumer electronics, all of which are expected to be significant sources of battery waste in the coming years.

Mobec is reportedly in advanced discussions with multiple potential partners across India, indicating strong market interest in its sustainable, tech-enabled business model.
