Honeywell has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Green Solutions Group Corporation (TGS) for the Tra Vinh Green Hydrogen project, Vietnam’s inaugural green hydrogen plant located in the Mekong Delta. This collaboration will leverage Honeywell’s Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to reduce costs and carbon emissions while ensuring grid stability from renewable power sources, thus facilitating green hydrogen production at the Tra Vinh plant.

With Honeywell’s expertise in project automation design, management, and energy transition, including BESS, the company aims to assist TGS in integrating renewable energy sources into the green hydrogen facility. The MoU signing, witnessed by Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, occurred in November 2023 at the COP28 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Dubai, UAE.

Ramanathan Valliyappan, Regional General Manager of Honeywell Process Solutions, emphasized the pivotal role of Honeywell’s BESS in the Tra Vinh Green Hydrogen project, highlighting its ability to extend renewable energy from solar farms and wind power, thus enabling continuous green hydrogen production.
