In a major stride towards sustainable energy solutions, JinkoSolar recently announced the successful grid connection of a cutting-edge 200 kW/430 kWh user-side energy storage system in collaboration with the State Power Investment Corporation’s Pingtan Comprehensive Smart Energy Demonstration Project.
Situated within the Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, the project holds strategic significance as Pingtan emerges as one of the nation’s pioneering smart pilot cities. This initiative stands as a compelling demonstration, playing a pivotal role in propelling Pingtan’s smart city development and fostering collaboration across shores.
JinkoSolar’s specialized team, JinkoStorage, meticulously assessed local conditions to configure the project, integrating two sets of 100 kW/215 kWh SunGiga commercial and industrial liquid-cooled energy storage systems. The resulting system boasts a total capacity of 200 kW/430 kWh, featuring an integrated design for high efficiency, easy expansion, and intelligent monitoring to ensure the safety of the battery system.
The SunGiga system’s standout feature is its liquid cooling technology, maintaining control over the battery temperature difference within 2.5°C. This innovation significantly enhances charging and discharging efficiency, mitigating the risk of system thermal runaway. Furthermore, automatic State of Charge (SOC) calibration and coolant automatic replenishment technologies substantially reduce system maintenance costs.
Economic calculations conducted by the JinkoSolar energy storage team demonstrate the project’s viability, highlighting the potential for satisfactory economic benefits through peak-valley price difference arbitrage. With different operating modes, such as one-charge-one-discharge and two-charge-two-discharge, the owner stands to achieve desirable economic returns.
JinkoSolar’s successful delivery of the user-side energy storage system aligns with the expectations of the Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone, showcasing the company’s expertise in the energy storage sector. This accomplishment injects renewed momentum into the construction of a robust new energy system within the Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone, marking a significant stride towards sustainable and efficient energy solutions.
