Solarworld Energy Solutions Limited has expanded its footprint in India’s renewable energy and storage sectors, securing multiple high-value contracts with NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd and NTPC Ltd.
The company was awarded a 200 MW AC balance-of-system (BOS) contract by NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd, a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Ltd, for a grid-connected solar PV project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The project is part of a broader 1 GW solar development initiative, comprising two 300 MW and two 200 MW blocks. Solarworld’s scope covers BOS execution along with three years of operation and maintenance (O&M) services, with the contract valued at approximately ₹267.53 crore, inclusive of taxes.
In a significant development for India’s energy storage sector, Solarworld has also secured two EPC contracts for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) from NTPC Ltd., targeting installations at thermal power stations:
- Feroze Gandhi Unchahar Thermal Power Station: A 50 MW / 100 MWh BESS project valued at around ₹108.22 crore, excluding taxes, with a 15-month execution timeline.
- Solapur Super Thermal Power Station: A 132 MW / 264 MWh BESS system, valued at approximately ₹314.26 crore, excluding taxes, also scheduled for completion within 15 months.
These contracts underscore Solarworld’s growing presence in both solar infrastructure and grid-scale energy storage, supporting India’s transition toward enhanced renewable energy integration and grid stability.
