Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) has signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GoodEnough Energy and Indoplast to replace conventional diesel generator (DG) sets with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
The pilot project aims to provide clean and reliable backup power while reducing reliance on fossil fuels. The BESS will use smart charging and discharging mechanisms to optimise energy costs and improve overall efficiency.
According to NPCL, the initiative is expected to enhance grid flexibility, support renewable energy integration and contribute to lowering carbon emissions. The company said the collaboration aligns with its commitment to delivering sustainable and customer-centric energy solutions.
The project marks another step in NPCL’s efforts to support India’s broader energy transition and promote environmentally responsible power infrastructure.
