Canadian Solar Inc. announced today that its battery subsidiary e-STORAGE, part of CSI Solar Co., Ltd., has signed Battery Storage Agreements (BSA) and Long-Term Services Agreements (LTSA) with Aypa Power for two major energy storage projects in Ontario – the Elora and Hedley facilities.

Together, the projects will add 420 MW / 2,122 MWh of storage capacity to Ontario’s grid, positioning them among the largest battery energy storage systems under development in the province. The agreements highlight Ontario’s growing role in large-scale clean energy infrastructure and reinforce the ongoing collaboration between e-STORAGE and Aypa Power across North America.

Both projects will use e-STORAGE’s SolBank technology under 20-year service agreements that include continuous monitoring, preventive maintenance, and performance guarantees, ensuring long-term reliability and stable revenue streams. Deliveries are set to begin in Q1 2026, with full commercial operations targeted for the first half of 2027.

“The Elora and Hedley projects represent critical investments in Ontario’s energy system, providing the flexible capacity needed to meet rising demand and maintain a reliable grid,” said Moe Hajabed, CEO of Aypa Power. “By working with trusted partners and applying the highest standards in performance and safety, we are building assets that deliver lasting value to Ontario’s communities and economy.”

Colin Parkin, President of e-STORAGE, added, “We are proud to expand our partnership with Aypa Power through these projects. They will provide reliable capacity under the IESO’s Long-Term 1 (LT1) Resource Adequacy framework and reaffirm our commitment to the Canadian market.”

The Elora and Hedley projects underscore how large-scale battery storage is becoming central to Ontario’s energy transition, offering grid stability, enhanced flexibility, and long-term sustainability.
