NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Ltd focused on renewable energy, has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL) to spearhead the development of battery energy storage and renewable energy projects across Bihar.

The agreement was signed by NGEL’s Chief Executive Officer, Sarit Maheswari, and BSPGCL’s Director Technical, Abdesh Kumar Singh, in the presence of Bihar’s Energy Minister, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, and other senior officials from the state government.

The collaboration is seen as a vital move to enhance Bihar’s clean energy infrastructure and support its transition toward a decarbonised energy ecosystem. According to NGEL, the focus will be on deploying advanced battery energy storage systems alongside solar and other renewable energy initiatives.

This development aligns with NTPC Green Energy’s broader mission to scale up its green power capacity to 60 gigawatts by FY2032. NGEL has been positioned as NTPC’s lead entity for expanding renewable assets through both organic and acquisition-driven strategies.
