In a major step toward enhancing Europe’s renewable energy infrastructure, SUNOTEC and Sungrow have signed a strategic agreement to deploy 2.4 GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) across multiple solar projects in Bulgaria and wider Europe.
SUNOTEC, a prominent player in solar energy development, is partnering with Sungrow, a global leader in PV inverters and energy storage technologies. This collaboration will see the integration of Sungrow’s cutting-edge PowerTitan 2.0 BESS technology, alongside its SG350HX-20 string inverter and MVS solution for hybrid PV and storage projects.
Several of the upcoming projects are backed by Bulgaria’s RESTORE national support program, marking a significant milestone as the first BESS deployment in the country featuring Sungrow systems. These projects are positioned to become flagship installations, enhancing both national energy storage capabilities and regional grid resilience.
Kaloyan Velichkov, CEO of SUNOTEC, emphasized the importance of intelligent storage in the global energy transition, stating the partnership with Sungrow reflects a shared vision for building scalable, sustainable energy infrastructure. The initiative aims to boost grid stability and enable efficient integration of solar energy across Europe.
Anastasios Gkinis, Sungrow’s Regional Director, highlighted the project’s strategic impact on Bulgaria’s energy transformation, describing it as a cornerstone effort to accelerate clean energy adoption in the region.
With this collaboration, SUNOTEC and Sungrow are poised to set new benchmarks for large-scale energy storage deployment and innovation in Europe’s evolving energy landscape.
