Estuary Power has officially commenced operations at its Escape Solar and Storage project in Lincoln County, Nevada. The 185 MW solar photovoltaic and 400 MWh battery energy storage facility, developed and owned by Estuary, marks a significant milestone for the state’s renewable energy landscape.

The project’s first phase—70 MW of solar power—began supplying electricity in June to Overton Power District No. 5, Caesars Entertainment, and Wynn Las Vegas under long-term power purchase agreements. The second phase, featuring 115 MW of solar capacity and 400 MWh of battery storage, is expected to begin delivering power to MGM Resorts International later this year.

Jill Daniel, CEO of Estuary Power, highlighted the project’s local benefits, noting it was built in Nevada by union labor from locals whose pension funds also support the project. “Escape contributes directly to our state’s economic development and energy independence,” she said.

Overton Power’s CEO MeLisa Garcia praised the project for offering cost-effective renewable energy and long-term rate stability. Caesars’ Eric Dominguez emphasized the project’s alignment with the company’s broader sustainability goals.

Estuary also announced a funding milestone with tax equity investment from Morgan Stanley Renewables Inc. and a term loan upsizing from Denham Capital.

Construction partners include Bechtel Infrastructure and Power Corporation, Dashiell Corporation, Tesla (battery systems), and JinkoSolar (TOPCon solar modules). Estuary, based in Reno, is a majority woman-owned company backed by Ullico Infrastructure Fund and employs union labor across its operations.
