In a significant stride toward India’s clean energy transformation, Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited (WRTL) has reported exceptional Q1 FY26 results, while marking its strategic foray into Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The company, a key player in the solar EPC space and a subsidiary of the Waaree Group, registered a robust 155.20% year-on-year revenue growth, clocking ₹603.19 crore in Q1 FY26 compared to ₹236.35 crore in Q1 FY25

This remarkable performance was complemented by a 206.77% YoY surge in profit after tax (PAT), reaching ₹86.39 crore. EBITDA also soared to ₹117.54 crore, up 186.14% from the same period last year, underscoring WRTL’s efficient project execution and strong financial footing

Beyond the numbers, the real highlight was the company’s active expansion into energy storage infrastructure. WRTL announced that it has secured 40 MWh of BESS EPC orders, firmly positioning itself in the growing segment of grid-stabilizing technologies. This move signals Waaree’s intention to become a full-spectrum clean energy solutions provider, integrating solar EPC, energy storage, and emerging tech like green hydrogen into its offerings

“We have broadened our portfolio to include Battery Energy Storage System EPC solutions, reinforcing our position in India’s energy transition,” said Manmohan Sharma, CFO of Waaree Renewable Technologies. “With a 3.15 GWp unexecuted solar EPC order book and a strong BESS pipeline, we are ready to deliver next-gen integrated energy projects,” he added

India’s renewable energy sector continues to accelerate, with total non-fossil power capacity surpassing 50% of the national mix—five years ahead of target. As solar installations surge and industrial demand grows, storage systems like BESS are becoming vital for grid flexibility and energy reliability.

Waaree’s strategic move into BESS comes at a time when policy tailwinds and technology maturity are converging to create a thriving market for hybrid renewable-energy solutions. With innovation and sustainability at the forefront, Waaree is poised to play a leading role in India’s clean energy future.
