Oriana Power, through its wholly owned subsidiary Truere Knight Pvt Ltd, is set to establish a significant battery energy storage system (BESS) in Rajasthan. The company has signed a 12-year Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA) with the Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RVUNL) for a 50 MW/100 MWh standalone BESS project. This project will be located at the Heerapura substation in Jaipur and will be executed under the Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model.

The estimated value of the project stands at ₹188.61 crore, which includes ₹27 crore under the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme. The BESS is expected to be commissioned within the next 18 months. Oriana Power plans to finance the project through a combination of internal accruals and debt, underscoring its confidence in long-term clean energy investments.

This development marks a strategic step forward in Oriana Power’s diversification from solar EPC and rooftop solar segments into grid-scale battery energy storage solutions. It aligns with the broader national objective of enhancing grid reliability, managing peak power demand, and supporting the integration of renewable energy into the grid.

With this initiative, Oriana Power further cements its commitment to building a resilient and sustainable energy future for the country.
