HyperStrong, a global leader in battery energy storage system (BESS) solutions, has entered into a strategic partnership with Swedish energy storage developer Repono AB to jointly advance grid-scale storage projects across Europe. The agreement, sets the stage for deploying 1.4 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2027, supporting an additional 400 MWh of renewable power on the grid and contributing 0.4% toward Europe’s 2030 renewable energy targets.
This collaboration brings together HyperStrong’s comprehensive system integration and lifecycle service capabilities with Repono’s deep expertise in large-scale project development, site permitting, and grid interconnection. The alliance is positioned to play a pivotal role in Europe’s energy transition while also strengthening local value chains and industrial resilience.
“We’re excited to expand our partnership with Repono to accelerate safe, high-performance, and cost-effective energy storage infrastructure across Europe,” said Mr. Pingyang Wang, Senior Vice President of HyperStrong International and President of the EMEA Region. “This reflects our long-term commitment to supporting grid stability and the green transition.”
Repono CEO Karim Nils Grueber highlighted the synergy: “HyperStrong’s technical strength complements our extensive development experience and operational expertise. Together, we aim to set a new benchmark in grid-scale storage deployment.”
Repono CTO Greger Landén added that after six months of joint evaluation, the companies found strong alignment in values and approach, particularly around performance, safety, and adaptability.
The agreement includes joint planning and coordination on pipeline projects, with technical and commercial integration as a core focus—positioning both companies to unlock new growth in the European energy storage market.
