In a strategic move to strengthen the battery materials supply chain in Europe, UK-based battery innovator Integrals Power has announced a new partnership with Euro Manganese to secure a local supply of High Purity Manganese Sulphate Monohydrate (HPMSM) – a critical raw material in the production of Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate (LMFP) cathode active materials.

As China currently dominates over 90% of global HPMSM production, the agreement marks a major step towards establishing a resilient, traceable, and EU-based supply chain. Euro Manganese will supply HPMSM from its facility in the Czech Republic – the only such production site in Europe – to Integrals Power’s pilot line in the UK.

The collaboration is set to support Integrals Power’s expansion from a 20-tonne annual production capacity to mass commercialisation of its LMFP technology, which is increasingly gaining traction for electric vehicle batteries. LMFP cathodes offer a safer and more thermally stable alternative to traditional Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) batteries, at a lower cost and with comparable driving range.

Behnam Hormozi, Founder and CEO of Integrals Power, highlighted the significance of the partnership:

“Our collaboration with Euro Manganese is a major step forward in securing a reliable, traceable, and local supply of high-purity manganese – a key ingredient in our LMFP cathode materials. This partnership enhances our ability to scale cathode production sustainably while supporting the growing demand for high-performance battery technologies across the UK and Europe.”

Euro Manganese CEO Martina Blahova expressed confidence in the partnership, stating:

“We are excited to partner with Integrals Power to advance cutting-edge battery technologies. Their innovative cathode materials support safer, more sustainable, and cost-effective battery solutions for a broad range of applications.”

The companies will begin compatibility testing in Q3 2025 to evaluate the performance of Euro Manganese’s HPMSM in Integrals Power’s production process. Upon successful results, a formal supply agreement – currently outlined in a letter of intent – will be enacted for an initial seven-year term, with the option to extend in four-year increments.

Notably, Euro Manganese’s Czech facility will produce HPMSM using tailings from a decommissioned mine, contributing to lower environmental impact and aligning with upcoming EU Battery Passport regulations set to take effect in 2027. These regulations will require full lifecycle tracking of every EV battery sold in the European market, further underscoring the value of local and sustainable sourcing.

This partnership positions both companies at the forefront of Europe’s evolving battery ecosystem, reinforcing their commitment to energy transition and emissions reduction through responsible innovation.
