Trina Storage, a global leader in energy storage, has teamed up with FlexGen, a top provider of battery energy storage systems and energy management software, to deliver a 371 MWh battery storage project in Houston, Texas. Developed by SMT Energy, this initiative represents Trina Storage’s largest grid-scale deployment in North America, highlighting the company’s growing confidence in the region’s expanding demand driven by data centers, AI, and electrification.

The project features Trina Storage’s state-of-the-art Elementa 2 system, engineered to enhance energy performance, ensure reliability, and reduce operational risks. Trina and FlexGen will also offer long-term services to maintain asset dependability.

FlexGen will handle system integration and implement its HybridOS™ energy management platform, allowing operators to efficiently control systems, quickly identify issues, anticipate maintenance needs, and boost overall performance.

FlexGen COO Diane Giacomozzi highlighted that the partnership with Trina Storage and SMT Energy accelerates the rollout of flexible energy storage, with pre-integration of HybridOS™ and Elementa 2 at their Durham Lab enabling faster deployment and optimal performance.
