Recurrent Energy recently celebrated the ribbon-cutting of its Papago Storage facility, marking a significant milestone in Arizona’s renewable energy future. Arizona Corporation Commission Chairman Kevin Thompson highlighted the project’s significance, stating that initiatives like this would help address the gap in generation demand.

The Papago Storage facility is part of a broader initiative, with three Recurrent Energy facilities set to bring a total of 1,800 MWh of energy storage and 150 MWac of solar capacity online. This collaboration with Arizona Public Service (APS) will provide reliable and affordable power to homes and businesses across the state.

The combination of solar and energy storage solutions is crucial for enhancing the stability and security of Arizona’s power grid, ensuring that utilities can meet growing demand with clean, sustainable energy.
