INTEC Energy Solutions (INTEC), a global leader in energy solutions, has announced its role in providing full Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services for a 640MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Queensland. The project, developed in collaboration with Lightsource bp, a major player in utility-scale renewable energy development, marks one of the largest energy storage projects in the region.

A Landmark Project for Renewable Energy Integration

The Woolooga BESS project, with a total capacity of 640MWh, will feature 128 advanced BESS containers designed to enhance grid stability and efficiency. This project is a significant step towards increasing renewable energy integration in Australia, helping stabilize the grid with reliable energy storage.

INTEC is working alongside Hithium, a leading provider of integrated energy storage solutions, to execute the project. The company will handle full EPC services as well as Operations and Maintenance (O&M) for the plant over a 25-year period, ensuring long-term efficiency and reliability.

Expanding INTEC’s Presence in Australia

INTEC, known for its high-quality solar project delivery across Europe, is expanding its footprint in Australia to meet the country’s growing energy needs. This includes opening a new office and hiring a local workforce to support ongoing and future projects.
