Gensol Engineering Secures Major BESS Project with GUVNL, Boosting Renewable Energy Capabilities

Gensol Engineering Ltd., a leading player in the solar power engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) sector as well as the electric mobility sector, has been awarded a significant portion of a battery energy storage system (BESS) project. Winning the bid under a Tariff-Based Global Competitive Bidding model, Gensol will develop 70 MW / 140 MWh out of a total 250 MW/500 MWh for Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) in Gujarat. This project will provide on-demand electricity to Gujarat’s DISCOMs, ensuring energy is available during peak and off-peak hours with the capability of two charge/discharge cycles per day.

This achievement is expected to contribute INR 450 Crore to Gensol’s revenue over the contract period, underscoring the growing demand and potential for renewable energy solutions. The use of Advanced Chemistry Cell-based Energy Storage Systems highlights Gensol’s integration into the value chain and its capability to deliver cutting-edge energy storage solutions. With the global push towards renewables integration and grid stability, this project underlines Gensol’s excellence in providing state-of-the-art energy storage solutions coupled with advanced energy management systems.
