Building on the success of their debut partnership in 2023, ees Europe, the largest and most internationally recognized exhibition for batteries and energy storage systems in Europe, will once again join forces with InterBattery, South Korea’s premier battery exhibition, for their 2024 event. Visitors can anticipate the return of the InterBattery Europe Showcase exhibition area, expected to feature approximately 200 companies, including industry giants such as Samsung SDI, LG Energy Solution, and SK On. Last year’s showcase boasted 72 companies, with 62 hailing from South Korea. With a primary focus on innovations in the upstream segment, the InterBattery Europe Showcase, integrated within ees Europe, ensures visitors access to the full spectrum of the energy storage industry, along with dedicated networking opportunities to foster valuable business connections.
Battery Day Europe 2024: Previewing the Conference
Running alongside the exhibition, the Battery Day Europe conference, scheduled for the first and second days, promises to complement the InterBattery Europe Showcase seamlessly. This year’s conference will delve into the realm of electric vehicle (EV) batteries, offering comprehensive insights into the latest legislation, strategies for securing battery materials, and cutting-edge technologies and business trends. Noteworthy emphasis will be placed on the German-Korean collaboration within the ReLioS network, focusing on innovative approaches to battery recycling, as well as advancements in EV battery production technologies.
Fostering Stronger Europe-South Korea Relations
This extensive array of offerings is made possible through collaboration among the organizers of The smarter E Europe (Solar Promotion GmbH and Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG), the Korea Battery Industry Association (KBIA), Coex (South Korea’s largest exhibition and convention organizer), and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA). Dong Ki Lee, President & CEO at Coex, underscores the significance of this collaboration, stating, “The presence at ees Europe in Munich is important to us. This collaboration between Europe’s leading battery exhibition and the largest battery exhibition in Korea allows our clients, key players of the Asian battery upstream market, to experience the German and European markets firsthand.” Tae Sung Park, Vice Chairman of KBIA, expresses optimism regarding the collaboration’s potential to enhance global competitiveness and foster international cooperation. Markus Elsässer, Founder and CEO of Solar Promotion GmbH, echoes the sentiment, emphasizing the value of networking and business opportunities for South Korean battery industry suppliers and trade visitors.
This ongoing partnership between ees Europe and InterBattery Europe promises to elevate the battery exhibition landscape, providing a platform for industry players to showcase innovations, forge partnerships, and drive the advancement of battery technologies on a global scale.
