In a major stride toward achieving its 100% renewable energy goal, a prominent IT multinational, Capgemini, has enlisted the support of FIMER by integrating their cutting-edge 2 MVA inverters into its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This strategic partnership is not only enhancing Capgemini’s environmental stewardship but also curbing a staggering 70,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
FIMER delivered its BESS-compatible PVS980-58BC 2 MVA inverters to two Capgemini office campuses. The first, a 3.5 MW BESS system, was seamlessly installed by Arcedo System in Mumbai, while the second, a 2.5 MW system, was expertly executed by Replus Engitech in Noida. Both projects successfully came to fruition in 2023.
The backbone of these initiatives lies in the three 2 MVA Power Conversion Systems (PCS) provided by FIMER. The PVS980-58BC bidirectional converters have proven ideal for large-scale energy storage systems, ensuring grid stability for power plants reliant on intermittent energy sources. Characterized by their high DC input voltage, efficiency, reliable components, and compact modular design, these converters offer a swift return on investment. They enable the storage of surplus renewable energy generated during the day for use during evening peak hours and can support load demand in instances of insufficient solar energy. Furthermore, FIMER’s PCS features a Black Start Mode/Grid forming mode, enabling it to form the grid in V/F mode during power outages and switch to grid-following mode as soon as power is restored.
