The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a notice inviting a tender for 2,000 MWh of standalone energy storage systems.

The Projects will be set up on “Build Own Operate” (B-O-O) basis.

SECI shall enter into an Agreement with the successful Bidder(s) selected based on this RfS for a period of 25 years as per the terms, conditions and provisions of the RfS.

The RfS document is likely to be made available by 31.08.2021, on the website of SECI. Prospective bidders are requested to remain updated on these websites for further details.

Once tendered this will become the largest standalone storage project announced in India till date.

This will be a much needed boost from the demand side for energy storage deployment in India.

Earlier SECI issued amendments to the tender for 100 MW (AC) of solar power projects along with a 50 MW/150 MWh battery storage system to be developed at Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh.
