Power Factors, LLC, the global leader in renewable energy asset performance management and enterprise asset management software, recently released support for the emerging class of utility-scale battery energy storage system assets in its Drive platform, empowering owners and operators to manage all their clean energy assets, including storage of all sizes, from a single unified platform.
Power Factors’ battery energy storage system (BESS) offering introduces new functionality that enables asset owners and operators to manage state-of-health performance against warranties, view state-of-charge analytics, and track battery cycles. Native integration with Power Factors’ enterprise asset management system provides an end-to-end solution for managing all energy storage operations, maintenance, and asset management tasks. Future releases for BESS in the Drive platform include advanced analytics, digital twin virtual models, and dispatch schedule optimization tools.
Arevon, a leading global provider of renewable energy infrastructure solutions to institutional investors and long-term owners, partnered with Power Factors to onboard their 100MW Saticoy energy storage site into the Drive asset performance management platform. The 100MW site – one of the largest energy storage systems operating in North America – is a utility-scale, transmission-grade storage project in Southern California Edison’s service territory and is the first of three similarly-sized assets Arevon will manage using Drive this year.
“Power Factors is our preferred partner because they understand our business and collaborate with us to develop the solutions we need to compete successfully in this emerging space. Saticoy is the first of three large-scale storage sites coming online with Arevon this year, making it more important than ever to be able to manage all our assets from a single unified platform. We’re excited for them to bring their best-in-class data management and analytics to this new asset class,” said Anand Narayanan, VP of Asset Management at Arevon.
Arevon needed a partner with energy storage monitoring and field service management experience and who is nimble in their approach of building out the best solution for each new application requirement in the storage marketplace. The partnership among Arevon, plant operators, and Power Factors led to the development of an energy storage asset management solution capable of meeting the needs of this rapidly growing renewable energy sector.
Abilash Krishnan, VP of Product at Power Factors, said, “We are very excited about adding this new asset class to the Drive Pro platform. Energy storage is the fastest growing renewable energy asset class and our customers have been asking for a complete solution for managing all their renewable power assets. As always, it has been a pleasure working with the professionals at Arevon and benefiting from their real-world operating experience in this space.”
