ONGC Invites Bids for BESS Deployment at Ahmedabad Asset to Enhance Oil Production Efficiency

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has invited bids for the deployment of battery energy storage systems (BESS) at its Ahmedabad Asset, aimed at improving operational efficiency in oil production systems.

The project involves the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of two BESS units for Sucker Rod Pump (SRP) wells. The selected contractor will also be responsible for providing operation and maintenance (O&M) services for a period of five years.

The tender, identified as D16DC26008, is being processed through the GePNIC Central Public Procurement Portal under a two-bid system. It has been categorized as an open tender under local competitive bidding for a works contract, with certain provisions such as benefits for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) and the Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India) policy not applicable.

According to the tender schedule, the bidding process commenced on April 1, 2026. Interested bidders can submit queries until April 11, 2026, while the deadline for submission of bids and supporting documents is set for April 22, 2026. The opening of techno-commercial bids is scheduled for April 23, 2026.

Bidders are required to submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs. 77,000 through electronic payment modes or via an electronic bank guarantee or insurance surety bond. The selected contractor will also be required to furnish a Performance Bank Guarantee, including 10% of the SITC contract value and an additional 3% of the O&M contract value, within 30 days of contract award.

The project is expected to be completed within 120 days, with bidders required to submit price bids in the prescribed format, inclusive of all applicable taxes and duties.
