UJVN Invites Bids for 60 MW / 150 MWh Standalone Battery Energy Storage Project in Uttarakhand

UJVN Ltd., a government enterprise of Uttarakhand, has invited online bids for the development of a 60 MW / 150 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in the state, aimed at enhancing grid stability and power reliability across key regions.

The tender has been issued by the Office of the Executive Engineer (Solar), Dehradun, under a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) model. The project is supported through Viability Gap Funding (VGF) under the Power System Development Fund (PSDF).

To ensure wider regional impact, the project has been divided into three separate packages, each strategically located near existing hydroelectric facilities to strengthen grid flexibility and operational efficiency.

Under Package 1, UJVN plans to set up a 30 MW / 75 MWh BESS near the Dhakrani Hydroelectric Project in Dehradun district, with a tender value of ₹170.98 crore and an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹1.50 crore.

Package 2 involves a 15 MW / 37.5 MWh system near the Tiloth Hydroelectric Project in Uttarkashi district, with a tender value of ₹85.45 crore and an EMD of ₹0.75 crore.

Package 3 includes another 15 MW / 37.5 MWh BESS near the Khatima Hydroelectric Project in Udham Singh Nagar district, also carrying a tender value of ₹85.45 crore and an EMD of ₹0.75 crore.

UJVN Ltd. is seeking tariff-based competitive bids through an online Request for Proposal (RFP) process. Interested bidders can access tender documents via the Uttarakhand state e-procurement portal, with the deadline for online bid submission set for February 25, 2026, at 4:00 pm.

The current tender notification outlines the project scope, locations, and timelines, while detailed technical specifications and subsequent updates will be issued through official addendums. Bidders have been advised to regularly monitor the UJVN Ltd. website and the state e-procurement portal for further clarifications and amendments.
