SECI and PTC India Sign MoU to Accelerate Battery Energy Storage Systems Deployment

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and PTC India Limited have exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a collaborative framework aimed at strengthening renewable energy integration and power market operations in India, with a key focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

The partnership will focus on grid integration of renewable energy, deployment of large-scale BESS projects, structured power products, and power market solutions, alongside the joint development of utility-scale renewable and energy storage assets. The collaboration is expected to enhance grid flexibility, support the seamless integration of renewables with storage, and promote market-based mechanisms for efficient power procurement and distribution.

The MoU was exchanged between Shri Akash Tripathi, IAS, Managing Director, SECI, and Dr. Manoj Kumar Jhawar, Chairman and Managing Director, PTC India Limited, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations, including directors responsible for solar, finance, and power systems.

The agreement was formally signed by Shri Prashant Soni, Deputy General Manager (Project Management), SECI, and Shri Bikram Singh, Executive Director (Marketing), PTC India Limited.

Officials said the strategic collaboration is intended to strengthen India’s renewable energy ecosystem by accelerating the deployment of BESS, improving grid reliability, and enabling innovative power market products aligned with India’s clean energy transition and energy security goals.
