Sungrow, a global leader in PV inverters and energy storage systems, is pleased to announce the deployment of its advanced liquid-cooled BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) solution, the PowerTitan, for the Vilvoorde BESS project in Belgium, totaling 800MWh. This project, developed by ENGIE, a renowned international utility group specializing in low-carbon energy and services, marks Sungrow’s inaugural BESS venture in Belgium and one of the largest installations in Europe, boasting a capacity of 200MW/800MWh. Scheduled for grid connection in 2025, the project is set to power approximately 96,000 households.

Sungrow will supply 320 units of its cutting-edge liquid-cooled PowerTitan energy storage systems for ENGIE’s Vilvoorde project. The PowerTitan stands out with its efficiency, safety features, and innovative design, facilitating ENGIE’s energy delivery goals. Its compact design and pre-assembled delivery reduce on-site installation time by 50%, while its back-to-back installation scheme optimizes space efficiency for large-scale ESS plants. The liquid-cooled technology ensures extended battery life through intelligent temperature control, maintaining a maximum temperature difference of up to 2.5 degrees Celsius. These features contribute to optimized capital and operational expenditures, ensuring a successful and sustainable project in every aspect.
