As Earth Day 2024 is celebrated worldwide, GoodEnough Energy, India’s premier manufacturer of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), has announced a bold initiative aimed at combating the alarming rise in environmental threats caused by carbon-intensive industries.

In response to the growing concentration of carbon-intensive industries and the widespread reliance on diesel generators for backup power, GoodEnough Energy has inaugurated India’s largest BESS Gigafactory in Jammu & Kashmir. With an initial capacity of 7GWh, slated to expand to 20GWh by 2026, this cutting-edge facility is poised to play a pivotal role in promoting grid stability and facilitating the transition to clean energy solutions.

Mr. Akash Kaushik, Founder of GoodEnough Energy, underscored the company’s dedication to sustainability, emphasizing the crucial role of the BESS Gigafactory in supporting India’s Net-Zero goal and aiding industries with high CO2 emissions in their green initiatives.

The initiative holds significant promise in mitigating the adverse effects of diesel generator usage, which emits an average of 3 kg of CO2 per litre of diesel consumed. By reducing over 5 million tonnes of CO2 annually, equivalent to the Indian Railway’s annual carbon reduction target of 4 million tonnes, GoodEnough Energy’s Gigafactory aims to revolutionize the landscape of carbon emissions.

With an investment exceeding INR 450 Crores, GoodEnough Energy is poised to generate job opportunities for over 100 SMEs as vendors and suppliers, fostering economic growth in the Jammu & Kashmir region.

Moreover, in response to the burgeoning demand for electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, GoodEnough Energy is set to address the escalating power demand for EV fast charging stations. Leveraging its BESS technologies, the company aims to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of EV charging facilities, effectively meeting the surging demand.

With its unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and innovative energy solutions, GoodEnough Energy leads the charge towards a greener and more sustainable future. Through initiatives like the BESS Gigafactory, the company aims to inspire positive change and empower industries to embrace cleaner and more efficient energy alternatives.
